About Jesus
Jesus is a worldwide figure who influenced the course of history. In the Bible, people always knew when they were in the PRESENCE of Jesus. There was something exceptional about Him and anyone could see it. He told engaging stories that caused people to think differently about life and God. He often healed people and generally made peoples' lives better.
Jesus was always connected to those around him. RELATIONSHIPS were His priority. He spent time with people who didn't have it all together, social outcasts and sinners. He cultivated twelve friendships that were so close to Him that they carried on His message after He left this earth.
These ideas shape the method and the MISSION of Jesus. He came from heaven to earth to demonstrate the love of God to humanity by giving His life, dying on a cross as the sacrifice for our sins, and resurrecting to life again so that we might receive the life, strength and joy of our Heavenly Father.
That's why we follow Jesus' life and teachings and why we worship Him. We are Jesus followers and we invite you to follow Him with us.
If you would like to pray and give your life to God, you might say something like this:
PRAYER TO FOLLOW JESUS
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me so much that you sent your son, Jesus, to die on a cross for my sins. Forgive me for thinking that I could live life on my own without you. I confess my failures and foolishness to you. I surrender my life to you and receive your gracious forgiveness. Make me into a new person and help me to follow you for the rest of my life. Thank you for loving me. Amen.
