It’s going to be a great day to worship Jesus together at 9:30 or 11:30AM. And word on the street is that the guy leading worship in this video is going to join the band for the morning. Apparently, he’s done this before. Who knew? Hope you can come.

On Sunday, June 30^th, instead of gathering for our usual worship expression at Westlake PAC, we’ll be spreading out across the city to worship God in tangible and practical acts of service, demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ to others.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a Sunday for serving people in need, sharing what we have, working to help make life better and restoring life and love to the city of Austin.

We want to be an expression of Jesus; but it’s also an exercise in becoming like Jesus.

Here is how you can help. We’re collecting information from neighborhoods that we belong to and we need your input. Do you have a neighbor who needs your help? Let’s coordinate and gather some people to serve them. If you have an organization that you’re involved with that needs help of any kind, let us know. We’ll point people in their/your direction. ONEchapel doesn’t need to be in charge of every effort, we just want to help coordinate this opportunity to serve. We’re open to any great ideas you have!

Here is how it will work. We’ll collect all of the information we can and then share it so that people can sign up on a team to serve that Sunday morning from 8:30am-12:30pm. Then, we’ll all meet back at Monterey Oaks for a celebration of God’s grace, with lunch for everybody, live music, worship and baptism. We’ll finish up around 2pm. It’s going to be a great day!

If you have a suggestion or connection to someone who we can serve, please go to www.onechapel.com and click on “Serving Opportunities” where you’ll see a link to a form to fill out. We’ll put it on a master list that will be published in June.

Please put it on your calendar and plan on inviting others to be involved. They don’t need to be part of our church in order to serve. In fact, this is a great opportunity to include those who don’t know about the love of Jesus at all.

The truth is, we can’t change our city in a single day—but we might change one or two hearts. And who knows, it could be yours. A thousand little acts of love could have an eternal impact. This is the vision of LOVE AUSTIN “Sunday!”

Next Sunday, April 21st at 5:30pm we’re hosting a night of worship and prayer for our families and our city with our good friends from the Desperation Band and New Life Church. We’ll be at Monterey Oaks and the night is free and open to everybody.
