IT’S GOING TO BE A BIG SUNDAY.

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

There are so many wonderful opportunities to get involved and share community at ONEchapel—and this Sunday is a BIG ONE! Check out what’s going on:

PRAYER MINISTRY BREAKFAST – Saturday, September 8th at 9am
If you’re interested in prayer and want to use your gifts to serve others, please join me for a Prayer Ministry Breakfast on Saturday, September 8th at 9am in the Living Room at Monterrey Oaks. We’ll talk vision and strategy for prayer at ONEchapel and introduce you to our new prayer ministry leaders, Derek and Carrie Peterson. Give us an RSVP if you can by clicking on “Prayer Ministry Breakfast.”

CONNECT GROUP SUNDAY – September 9th
Get ready for Connect Group Sunday at all three services where we’ll provide an opportunity for you to meet with Connect Group Leaders face to face. You can get the Connect Group Menu online right now by clicking on “Connect Groups.” Please pray about where you should connect in the ONEchapel community and take advantage of this important event to consider how you can contribute and share your life with others. It’s going to be fabulous!

THE 11:30am SERVICE IS FULL!
Would you be willing to serve others who are coming to ONEchapel for the first time by switching to the 9:30am or the 5:30pm service? Both services have all the same elements as the 11:30am, just more seats. It would be such a blessing and act of love for everyone involved. God is giving us influence and opportunity to reach more people. I hope you’ll help me make room for others by switching to the 9:30am service, and especially the 5:30pm service (which often turns out to be quite fun and unpredictable!)

MEN’S RETREAT – Friday to Sunday, October 5th – 7th
Join the men of ONEchapel this fall at the beautiful Camp Buckner (just an hour away from Austin) on Friday night through Sunday morning, October 5th-7th. This will be fantastic time of outdoor activities, worship and sharing together where I’ll be teaching and vision casting for men’s ministry at ONEchapel. We’ll all return early Sunday morning together for church services at ONEchapel with the rest of the family! This event is for all men, age 13 and up. Two nights and five meals are only $96 per person and space will be limited. Some scholarships are available. Sign up right now by clicking on MEN’S RETREAT.

Don’t hesitate; jump in!
Don’t hang back; find your place!
Don’t miss out; this could be a big moment for you!

See you Sunday,

Ross

JESUS FOR PRESIDENT? (…AND OTHER ONECHAPEL HAPPENINGS).

Hey ONEchapel Family and Friends!

I’d like to take this moment to interrupt both U.S. political party conventions to bring you this very important announcement: Jesus is not running for President! He is not trying to win your vote. Instead, He has come to take over our lives! He taught his disciples to pray, “Let your kingdom come, let your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.” This is such a pivotal and powerful prayer that challenges us to ask God, “What are you doing here and how can I cooperate?” It’s a bold prayer that we’re instructed to pray inviting God into every area of our lives.

I also want to encourage you to pray big prayers during our final week of “21 Days of Prayer.” There is no prayer too big or too small for God to answer. What are you believing God for right now? Is it beyond your capacity or ability to accomplish? If it is, then you’re on the right track. Who are you praying for to receive a revelation of God’s great love? Don’t give up. God is working behind the scenes even when you may not be able to see it. God’s kingdom is already advancing and we are His ambassadors ushering in God’s will and purpose.

Join us everyday in praying a different theme together by text or email. Text OCPRAY to 313131, or sign up for daily prayer emails at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “21 Days of Prayer.” You can also join us as we gather at Monterrey Oaks, Monday through Friday from 6am to 7am.

I’ve included a prayer guide for you to pray with us during this last week of our 21 days. Click here for attachment.

PRAYER MINISTRY BREAKFAST – Saturday September 8th

If you’re interested in more coordinated and consistent prayer for others at ONEchapel, and in our city, please join me for a Prayer Ministry Breakfast on Saturday, September 8th at 9am in the Living Room at Monterrey Oaks. I’ll share a vision for prayer and introduce you to our new prayer ministry leaders, Derek and Carrie Peterson. I hope you can make it!

CONNECT GROUP SUNDAY THIS WEEK – Sunday, September 9th

You’ll receive a menu of all the Connect Groups this Sunday at all three services so that you can pray about where you’re going to connect. You’ll also be able to get the menu online at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Connect Groups.” Connect Group Sunday is this week on September 9th where you’ll be able to meet each Connect Group Leader face to face. I hope you’ll take advantage of this important event to consider how you can create community and share your life with others.

MEN’S RETREAT – October 5th – 7th

It’s time for the men of ONEchapel to connect in a greater way. We’ve got to encourage one another and stand with one another as we lead our families with courage and strength. As a result we’ve planned a MEN’S RETREAT this fall at the beautiful Camp Buckner (just an hour away from Austin) on Friday night through Saturday night October 5th-7th. We’ll all return early Sunday morning together for church! This will be fantastic time of outdoor activities, worship and sharing together. Two nights and five meals are only $96 per person and space will be limited. Some scholarships will be available. Sign up this weekend at www.onechapel.com by clicking on MEN’S RETREAT.

THE 11:30am SERVICE IS FULL!

Would you be willing to serve others who are coming to ONEchapel for the first time by switching to the 9:30am or the 5:30pm services? Both services have all the same elements as the 11:30am, just more seats. It would be such a blessing and act of love for everyone involved. The 5:30pm service is a wonderfully, motley crew that would love to have you join them. It’s a very relaxed service where you never know what I’m going to say. Risky and fun! I hope you’ll help me make room for others by switching to the 9:30am or the 5:30pm. Thank you so much!

Jesus is doing a lot, and I don’t want you to miss a thing!

CONNECTING IN COMMUNITY.

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

Check out all the great opportunities to connect this week!

21 DAYS OF PRAYER | August 20th – September 9th

Sixty-five people joined together at 6am this morning at ONEchapel to pray, worship and seek the Lord for His purpose and plans for our families, our church and our city. There was an air of anticipation and faith in the room as we lifted our voices together. I know it might be a little early for some of you but don’t worry, we have coffee available. If you’re not able to join us at 6am, join us by texting “OCPRAY” to 313131 so that you can receive the prayer theme for each day with a Scripture and helpful bullet points for prayer. It’s also available on the website www.onechapel.com. Remember, prayer stimulates the Holy Spirit’s activity in your life, so let’s believe God for extraordinary answers to our prayers over the next three weeks.

SUNSET VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OUTREACH | This Thursday, August 23rd

ONEchapel has adopted Sunset Valley Elementary as a way to reach out to our community in a tangible way. We are committed to encouraging teachers, helping kids and working to make the school grounds beautiful. As the school year approaches, they need our help with various projects. The next opportunity is this Thursday, August 23rd as they prepare for the upcoming school year. You can sign up for three time slots 8am-12pm; 12pm-4pm; and 4pm-8pm at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Sunset Valley Elementary.” Times are flexible, so call 512-777-1663 or email info@onechapel.com for more information.

“LIFELONG LOVE AFFAIR” | This Friday & Saturday, August 24th – 25th

You can still sign up for this great marriage event! We’ll host this live simulcast experience taught by Pastor Jimmy and Karen Evans of Marriage Today Ministries at ONEchapel this Friday, August 24th from 7 to 9:30pm and Saturday, August 25th from 9am to 12pm. Workbooks, breakfast and refreshments are all included in your registration fee – only $60 per couple. Childcare is available and you can register online at www.onechapel.com. Contact kristi.savage@onechapel.com for scholarship availability.

CONNECT GROUP SUNDAY KICK-OFF | September 9th

This is just a reminder to be praying about where you want to connect in community this fall. We will be publishing a full menu of Connect Groups by September 2nd so that you have a week to study it, pray and consider a group to join. Then, on Sunday, September 9th, we’ll kick off the semester with Connect Group Sunday where we’ll have every group leader available for you to meet and talk to after each of our services. It will be a great Sunday together.

I am excited about our community! Don’t miss out and isolate yourself by being too busy or letting the challenges of life get you down. Come to a prayer meeting, pitch in and help some schoolteachers who need us, and connect in a small group for fellowship and encouragement. It’s the family of God and you belong here!

I love serving God with you,

Ross

ANTICIPATING GOD’S GRACE!

Greetings ONEchapel Family and Friends,

Christmas Eve was so much fun with you! I so enjoyed the Carols, the True Story of Christmas, the Family singing together, and THE MARIACHI BAND! And of course, many people making new and renewed commitments to Christ. There is nothing better than that!

As we stand on the precipice of the new year, it’s amazing to look back at God’s faithfulness and give thanks, while at the same time looking forward, anticipating God’s grace. As a result, I’m filled with expectation!

GROWING AND STRETCHING

We’re moving into a new season for ONEchapel as we get settled in our new location at Monterey Oaks. It is a season of growing and stretching to meet the demands of ministry to more and more people. The last two weekends were our two biggest attendance records of the year and I believe God is giving us opportunities everywhere to share His life, love, and truth with people in need. It is an amazing journey that we are all on together and we’re just getting started. Thank you for serving and giving faithfully to the mission of helping others encounter Christ’s presence and experience authentic relationships.

END-OF-THE-YEAR GIVING

As you know, moving into a new facility has all kinds of hidden costs and surprises—just like moving into a new house. We’re going to grow into our space and, as you give, we will continue to be good stewards of all that we have in order to serve people well. I want to encourage you to continue to give financially to the vision of a church where everyone belongs and where people are challenged to be all that God wants them to be. If you would like to give an end-of-the-year gift to ONEchapel for tax purposes, remember that you can do it quickly and easily by simply going to the website and clicking “online giving” at www.onechapel.com. Or, you can always use our mailing address: 3800 Ben Garza Lane, ATX 78749. We will allow 2011 dated giving as late as January 8th.

FIRST WEEK

Don’t make flimsy New Year’s resolutions this year. Start the year off right by consecrating your life to God and giving Him first place in everything. Join us for FIRST WEEK—a time of prayer, fasting and worship for ONEchapel. We’ll open the church for prayer everyday at NOON and we’ll come together for worship and prayer each evening with a live band from 7:00pm-8:30pm, Monday through Friday. There is no better way to begin 2012 than with a season of prayer and fasting and I hope you’ll join me. Skip lunch and come over to Monterey Oaks and pray with us. If you’re too far away to drive over, set aside some special time to pray and increase your awareness of God’s presence, His purpose for you, and the needs of others.

HOSTING MISSIONARIES

Our church is partnering with a Missions organization called Mountain Gateway whose goal it is to recruit, train, place, and pastor missionaries. Many of the new recruits and some current missionaries are coming to Austin during the month of January for strategy and training sessions. We need your help in hosting them. If you’re interested in having one or two missionaries stay in your home for a few days or in helping to serve them while they are here, please contact kim.swafford@onechapel.com.

IN THE FIRST PLACE: Priorities for Life

I’ll be starting a brand new series this Sunday, Jan. 1st on how to live our lives according to the priorities of God’s Word. Keeping Jesus in the first place is what living a surrendered life is all about. So, if you’re like me, and you have trouble keeping the main thing the main thing sometimes, this is the perfect opportunity for all of us to remind ourselves of the priorities that not only please God but give us life as well. I’ll see you on Sunday!

Also, join us in reading the Bible through in one year during 2012. We start January 1 and you can find the One-Year-Bible reading everyday on our website www.onechapel.com by clicking on One Year Bible!

I love sharing this adventure with you!

Ross

PRAYER AND VISION.

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends,

Just a couple of things to make you aware of…

21 DAYS OF PRAYER

We’re on day thirteen of our 21 day prayer initiative and we’re having some great prayer times together. Pray with us everyday using the 21 day prayer point guide. Then, join us each Tuesday and Saturday night at 7pm at The Family Room for live, corporate worship and prayer. We’re lifting up our family and friends, our neighbors, our church and our city, asking God to make us useful in his hands.

THIS SUNDAY

We are coming up on our one-year anniversary as a church in September, which makes it the perfect time to share some vision and direction for all that God is doing at ONEchapel. This Sunday morning, I’ll be giving the most up-to-date information on our location search and the next steps for our church family. I am excited about what God is preparing for us in His plan to reach our city with the love of Jesus. I hope to see you Sunday!

For the ONE,

Ross
