WHAT A NIGHT! WHAT A WEEKEND!

Hi ONEchapel Friends and Family,

Check out your opportunities to connect this weekend!

BECOME – Women’s Event

Ladies, don’t miss this evening of encouraging worship, amazing stories and future vision for women’s ministry at ONEchapel. My incredible wife, Aimee, is inviting every woman at ONEchapel to join her this Friday night at 7pm at our Monterey Oaks location. If you’re trying to connect at ONEchapel, this is an awesome opportunity to meet other women who are on the journey with you. All are encouraged to bring snacks to share and an item to donate to the Christian Women’s Job Corps or the South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center. (List of items is online at onechapel.com/women). Come ready to experience the genuine community of sisterhood at ONEchapel.

LET’S PAINT THIS SCHOOL! (Sunset Valley Elementary)

In our mission to be a blessing to our community, we’ve adopted the Sunset Valley Elementary School. We’re joining with them on beautification projects, teacher and staff appreciation and, ultimately, mentoring and reading programs for kids. This Saturday, May 19th will be one of our first opportunities to put some muscle into their first big project—painting the school. I’m going to be there and I’d love for you to join me. We need about 13 more people to be part of this tangible expression of God’s love. Load the kids up in the car and wear your paintin’ clothes for a really fun Saturday morning – starting 8am at Sunset Valley Elementary School.

 FIGHT TO THE FINISH

We started a new message series last Sunday on the Book of 2nd Timothy called “Fight to the Finish!” We’re talking about how the Apostle Paul coached his young apprentice, Timothy, on how to stay steady in difficult times and how to keep his eyes on the prize. If you need strength, encouragement and tools to help you fight to the finish, join us on Sunday at any of our services, 9:30am, 11:30am and 5:30pm. You will be glad you did!

Hang in there, don’t give up and keep fighting the good fight! You can make it because Christ is with you and fighting for you.

I’m praying for you this week,

Ross

I’M GRATEFUL FOR YOU!

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

As we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving week and heading into the Holiday Season, I want you to know how grateful I am for you and your faithfulness to God’s work in our church and our city. I see life-change all around us as we are diligent in loving one another and serving others in a practical way with the message of the Gospel.

Every week, people are making commitments to Christ and we are becoming a more and more useful instrument in the hands of our Heavenly Father. We are readying ourselves for the next season of harvest just around the corner and I’m increasingly filled with faith that God wants to send us more people who need his love, his healing and his grace. Here is just a taste of what’s going on around ONEchapel.

WOMEN HELPING WOMEN

Last Saturday, BECOME, our ONEchapel Women’s Ministry hosted the first ever “Women Helping Women” outreach. We partnered with the Christian Women’s Job Corps in hosting a Mother/Daughter Day where each of the ladies enjoyed manicures, facials, haircuts, massages and tasty dishes. They shared an emotional and presence-filled time of worship with a message on what true love looks like. It was incredible! Several women and girls showed up to church on Sunday morning and made commitments to Christ. This is why we’re here! Check out pictures and more on BECOME’s blog.

CHRISTMAS OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY – December 17th

We’re partnering with Northwest Fellowship to take “Blessing Bags” into the Travis State Jail right here in Austin. Most inmates do not receive a gift for Christmas and this is a chance for us to obey Matthew 25:36 where Jesus said, “When I was in jail, you visited me.” The date is December 17th and there are several ways you can get involved. Serve this event with your entire family, or mobilize your Connect Group to share with some of the most neglected people in our society. Our coordinator for this event is CJ Ronchetti and she has created a flyer with all the information you need to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Check out the attachment!

CONNECT GROUP LEADER TRAINING – December 11th

Community is one of the most important values of ONEchapel and relationships are essential in order to grow a healthy church. Our next semester of Connect Groups launches in January and that means we want to give you an opportunity to serve others by leading a group. If you are interested in Connect Group leadership, please join us on Sunday, December 11th at 3:30pm at the Family Room (3800 Ben Garza Ln. Austin, TX 78749). We’ll give you all the coaching, training, and encouragement you need to be the leader God has called you to be. Our goal is to train enough leaders so that no one will be left out at ONEchapel. Sign up at www.onechapel.com by clicking on Connect Group Leader Training.

MONTEREY OAKS MOVE

As you know, we’re making progress towards moving into our new leased facility at Monterey Oaks. We still don’t have a move-in date but we are hopeful to identify our first Sunday very soon. We continue to work and wait on a final permit approval when we will be able to go in and make the space ready for our Sunday services. This includes installing audio, video and acoustical treatments. At this point we are probably just a few weeks away from our first service in this beautiful space. It’s going to be a wonderful time of celebrating God’s faithfulness together. Thank you for your patience and continued prayers. Remember to get the most up-to-date info on Facebook, Twitter@onechapel and www.onechapel.com by clicking on our blog.

Let’s enjoy this Holiday Season together as a family and be sure that we are caring for one another and those in need. This is the best way to show gratitude to our Heavenly Father and to celebrate the gift of His Son who came to seek and save those who are lost.

Jesus is building His Church!

BAPTIZING, BECOMING, CONNECTING, AND MOVING.

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

We had an amazing time worshiping and celebrating together last Sunday night at the Hillside Theater in Zilker Park. We had perfect weather, the kids enjoyed the popcorn and cotton candy, the band cranked, the food collections piled up and we were overjoyed at nine people being water baptized! Check out this beautiful video that shares the personal joy and wonder of baptism put together by our own Kristopher Rutherford. Then, read the rest of this very important email!

I personally prayed with a young mom, Amanda, who wandered over with her two kids when she heard the music. She and her husband were in great need so we helped her with some grocery money and she broke down and cried as she recommitted her life to Christ. The next day, I met her husband who is struggling with cancer and we had the opportunity to pray with him as well. Thank God for opportunities like that to share the love of Christ. Jesus is speaking all around us if we’ll only listen. He is calling people to himself and we can help them find the way.

I want you to join us in being the hands and feet of Jesus as we keep serving people in need. Here are just a couple opportunities and headlines of what’s going on at ONEchapel.

WE ARE MOVING!
Monterey Oaks 5508 Hwy 290 W. Austin, TX 78735

We hope you’ve heard by now, but just in case you haven’t; ONEchapel is on the move! Our new location is in the Monterey Oaks Business Complex on the North side of 290 just west of Monterey Oaks Blvd. The remodeling process is picking up speed and we should be announcing our first Sunday in that location soon. It’s going to be a great time of celebration so be sure to stay connected and you won’t miss a thing! Get the latest by checking out the website www.onechapel.com or checking in on this blog. You can also “like” us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @onechapel. You’ll enjoy the tweets!

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS THIS SUNDAY
Don’t forget to “fall back” and set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night. That way you won’t show up to church an hour early—although early is better than late—and it’s always better late than never.
I love serving with you,

Ross

CHECK OUT THE LATEST…

Here’s the latest going on at ONEchapel…

IT’S LADIES NIGHT!

Oh, what a night! Join the women of ONEchapel this Friday, October 14th at 7pm in The Family Room (3800 Ben Garza Ln Austin, TX 78749) for a fantastic night of fellowship and connection. We’ll set up an“ice-cream bar” and all you need to do is bring your favorite topping! Invite a friend for an evening of worship and a message from my incredible wife, Aimee, encouraging every woman to become all that God wants her to be. This is a great opportunity to meet some new friends, eat some ice-cream (guilt free), and experience an amazing life changing event.

MOVING FORWARD

We continue to move forward to our new location near Monterey Oaks Blvd on the north frontage road of Hwy 290. The building is called Monterey Oaks. It is a commercial property with a ton of parking and a beautiful lobby where you can stand around and talk as much as you want! The permits are in process and the improvements continue to pick up momentum. I’m excited about this next step in our journey together and I know there are really good things coming. Keep praying and expecting!

CHURCH SERVICES

This Sunday, AMC is moving us to three new theaters. We will have our adult services in theater 3 and our children’s services in theaters 4 and 5. This will mean we’re all together in the same hallway and children’s check-in will be in a new spot right across from Guest Central in the main lobby. We’re also shortening our 11:30am service to accommodate the theater’s request to exit the theater by 12:30pm. We’ll squeeze together for a few weeks until we get into our new space, so be friendly, patient and enjoy the adventure!

CHURCH CHAIRS

We’ve enjoyed some really nice seats in the movie theater, and now we get to purchase some new chairs for our new location. We’ve chosen a very nice chair at a great price for right around $50 a piece and I would like to encourage every one of us to buy his or her own chair. For example, a family of four would buy four chairs for a total of $200. If you have a friend or an extended family member that you’ve been praying for to come to church, consider buying an extra chair for them. Just write “church chair” on your check or go to www.onechapel.com, click  “Online Giving” and choose “church chair” on the drop down menu. Remember, you can always give regularly, easily and safely online at onechapel.com.

What an adventure this is! I love taking this journey with you. See you Sunday.

Ross

WELL, WE’RE MOVING ON UP!

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

It’s an incredible season for ONEchapel and there is much to look forward to. Here’s a sampling of what you can get involved in. For all the info on ONEchapel, go to the website www.onechapel.com and check out what’s happening around the church. Be sure to click on this blog often for the very latest!

THE MOVE

As you know, we’re getting ready to move to our new location near Monterey Oaks Blvd. on the north frontage road of Hwy. 290. The building is called Monterey Oaks and is a commercial property with a ton of parking and a great lobby. This is an exciting step that we’re giving us more flexibility with our space, our time, and our ministry opportunities. Well, we’ve hit a few bumps in the road with permitting delays and so we don’t know when we’ll actually be moving. We’re most likely looking at a mid-November time frame, but as soon as I know, you will know! Stay tuned…this is going to be a fun ride.

CHAIRS

We’re ready to order chairs for our new space and that means we need your help. We’ve chosen a very nice chair for right around $50 a piece and I would like to encourage everyone to buy his or her own chair. For example, a family of four would buy four chairs for $200. If you have a friend or an extended family member that you’ve been praying for to come to church, consider buying an extra chair for them. Some of you can purchase additional chairs and some of you can’t, but if all of us will just tithe regularly and give what we can, we can cover all the expenses of moving into this new space. Just write “church chair” on your check or go to www.onechapel.com, click  “Online Giving” and choose “church chair” on the drop down menu. Remember, you can always give regularly, easily and safely online at onechapel.com.

WOMEN’S MEETING

Join the women of ONEchapel next Friday, October 14th at 7pm in The Family Room (3800 Ben Garza Ln. Austin, TX 78749) for a fantastic night of fellowship and connecting. An “ice-cream bar” will be all set up and you just need to bring your favorite topping! Don’t worry; I’m sure it’s totally fat-free. Bring a friend for an evening of worship with a message from my beautiful wife, Aimee, encouraging every woman to become all that God wants her to be. This is a perfect time to meet some ladies, share some sweets and experience an amazing life changing event. Don’t miss it!

REACHING OUT

The families affected by the Bastrop fires continue to need our practical help in the weeks and months ahead. As they put their lives and homes back together, they will need encouragement, prayers and gifts of service. From cleaning up debris in the neighborhoods to sponsoring a family, the opportunities are immense. Why not sign up as a Connect Group and sponsor a family in need? Or, how about taking your family to volunteer in the warehouse to organize cloths and resources? Get the latest at www.onechapel.com and click on “Austin Fires” for all the info you need to be the hands and feet of Jesus to people in great need.

Final thought: Life is too short to dwell on our shortcomings. Instead, dwell on the length of God’s gracious love, the depth of His grace and the great strength that is ours in weakness.  2 Corinthians 12:9-10

I love this!

Ross
