NEW 5:30 SERVICE THIS SUNDAY.

Hey ONEchapel Family and Friends,

I just want to remind you that we are going to three services this Sunday, March 18th! This new service will begin at 5:30pm and will be the same theme and content as the morning church services at 9:30am and 11:30am. We’re moving to three services to relieve some pressure on the 11:30am service (hint, hint) and to create the opportunity for those who are unable to come to church on Sunday morning.

Will you help us spread the word about this new service? Email, Facebook or Tweet about it. Or, maybe its just time to invite someone who you’ve been praying for and then take them out for coffee afterwards. We’ll end this new service at 7pm—plenty of time for conversation and connection at a South Austin hot spot.

Remember, most people will say yes to being invited to church if only someone would ask.

Open your eyes. See the harvest. Take the risk. God is with you!

GRACE AND GROWTH.

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

We are experiencing an explosion of grace and growth in our little church plant called ONEchapel. Jesus is truly building His Church and I am overwhelmed by the goodness of God. That means we have a lot of work to do as we love and encourage one another and reach out to serve our community. Let’s be salt and light everyday! Our church services are full, our Connect Groups are…well, connecting beautifully, many people are experiencing profound life-change, and we’re seeing commitments to Christ every single week at ONEchapel. I don’t know if you realize this, but we’re in the middle of a miracle!

Here’s what coming up this weekend. Come on and jump in!

THE EARLY BIRD GETS MORE ROOM…

I want to ask some of you who attend the 11:30am service to switch over to the 9:30am service. Some of you could do that easily and we need to because the second service is too full while the first service still has a bit more room. Would you be willing to serve others who want to come to ONEchapel by coming a little earlier? I would appreciate it and I know others will be blessed by this simple act of servanthood. We’ll balance out these two services before we have to go to a third service…(hint, hint).

RUN FOR THE ONE!

This Saturday, January 28th, at 9am we’ll host our first annual “Run for the ONE” half marathon, 10K and 5K “fun run” at Town Lake. We’ll meet in the grassy area near the south parking lot under the Mopac overpass by the pedestrian bridge at Zilker Park. Registration will begin at 8am for this free event. We’re all just getting together to highlight exercise, fitness, determination and fun. The course instructions will be given around 8:45am just before we begin. All registered runners will be assigned a number and receive a T-shirt. Families and friends are all encouraged to come out and cheer on your runners. Just look for the ONEchapel “Easy-up” tents and signs. It’s going to be loads of fun!

FAMILY SUNDAY IS JANUARY 29TH

We believe in families worshiping together. It is a wonderful expression of life and love when families share this time together. Here’s what the day will include:

·       Sunday Morning Together: In both Sunday morning services, all the kids will join the adults for worship in the “Living Room.” We’ll gear the service towards the whole family with some fun and energetic elements for the kids. Don’t miss this one!

·       Baby Dedication: Interested in dedicating your baby during the 11:30am service on Family Sunday? E-mail chelsie.griffith@onechapel.com.

·       Night of Worship at 5:30pm: In the evening we will share in a time of extended worship & prayer at the Monterey Oaks campus. We’ll have an area for kid’s worship, some special interactive elements and water baptism. Invite a friend for this dynamic worship experience!

·       Water Baptism: During our evening worship service we will celebrate new life in Christ with water baptism! If you’re interested, sign up for the class and get more info at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.”

BAPTISM CLASS AT 4:00pm ON SUNDAY

This Sunday afternoon, January 29th, at 4:00pm in Suite 120 we want to encourage you in one of the best decisions you will ever make—Water Baptism! Join us just before the Night of Worship for a short class where you’ll learn how to identify with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, leaving your old life behind and embracing your new life in Christ. Then, we’ll all get together to celebrate with you as you are baptized during our Night of Worship that evening. Sign up and get all the info at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.”

2012 GIVING STATEMENTS

Your 2012 giving statements are available online at www.myonechapel.com. 2.  Once signed in, you’ll see your name in the upper right hand corner. Click “Go to my profile.” This is your personal profile page.

3.  Below your general information, you’ll see several tabs. Click “Financial”.

4.  Under “Printable Statements” on the right, click “Giving Statement.”

5.  Choose the appropriate drop down menu options and remember to choose “Last Year” on the “Date Range” drop down menu.

If you need assistance, please feel free to contact Kristi Savage at kristi.savage@onechapel.com and she will happily serve you. She can also send you your statement through the mail if you cannot access the site for any reason.

I am filled with faith. Let’s keep praying, serving, loving and giving!

Grateful for you,

THE BUZZ OF CONNECTION!

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

I’ve been hearing the buzz since Sunday about all the great Connect Groups meeting around the city. If you haven’t made it to one yet, make it a priority this week or next to try one out. You may not find your fit right away, but keep trying, there is a group out there just for you. Whether you need to learn the basics of the faith, find some good fellowship with friends or just want to study a book of the Bible, you can connect with others just like you. With a record-breaking Sunday attendance last week, it is so important that every one of us reach out and CONNECT!

CONNECT GROUPS

Let me recommend a couple groups to you. “Next Steps” is on Sunday nights at the Ben Garza House and is perfect for newer believers who need foundational truths; while “We Are Church” is on Wednesday nights, right near the Monterey Oaks campus, and might be great fit for parents of teens. You could drop your teens off at TAG and then enjoy a brilliant DVD series, produced by Francis Chan, about who we are as God’s people. You can find the list of groups online now at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Connect Groups.”

RUN FOR THE ONE

Join us for the first annual “Run for the ONE” half marathon, 10K and 5K fun-run at Town Lake on Saturday, January 28th at 9:00am. We’ll meet under the MOPAC overpass by the pedestrian bridge at Zilker Park. We’ll have course maps, water stations and T-shirts. There is no cost for entering; this is simply a way for all of us to highlight the importance of health and fitness (1 Cor. 3:16). If you want to help by serving at water stations, provide directions for runners or help set up tables, etc… please contact Nathan Emert at nathan.emert@onechapel.com. We’ll also be familiarizing ourselves with the course this Saturday, January 21st at 9:00am with a practice run. Come celebrate at the finish line and cheer on those running. It’s going to be fun, fun, fun!

WATER BAPTISM

We’ll be water baptizing during our Night of Worship on Sunday, January 29th at our Monterey Oaks campus. If you have not been water baptized, or if you were baptized as a child, but not “since you believed,” this is an opportunity to obey the Lord in identifying with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. This is a wonderful sacrament full of meaning, freedom and joy as you leave your old life behind and embrace your new life in Christ. We’ll have a class at 3:30pm at the Monterey Oaks campus as well, so sign up and get all the info that you need at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.”

NIGHT OF WORSHIP

Invite someone to our first Night of Worship of 2012 in our new Monterey Oaks campus on Sunday, January 29th at 5:30pm. We’ll sing, pray, share and water baptize just as we do every fifth Sunday of the month. It’s going to be a great event!

Let me encourage you to put God first in every area of your life today. Think about how you can keep Him IN THE FIRST PLACE no matter what you’re facing. Seek HIS kingdom first and create the capacity to receive all the other things God wants to add to you (Matt. 6:33).

Be the ONE who brings the light…

Ross

ANTICIPATING GOD’S GRACE!

Greetings ONEchapel Family and Friends,

Christmas Eve was so much fun with you! I so enjoyed the Carols, the True Story of Christmas, the Family singing together, and THE MARIACHI BAND! And of course, many people making new and renewed commitments to Christ. There is nothing better than that!

As we stand on the precipice of the new year, it’s amazing to look back at God’s faithfulness and give thanks, while at the same time looking forward, anticipating God’s grace. As a result, I’m filled with expectation!

GROWING AND STRETCHING

We’re moving into a new season for ONEchapel as we get settled in our new location at Monterey Oaks. It is a season of growing and stretching to meet the demands of ministry to more and more people. The last two weekends were our two biggest attendance records of the year and I believe God is giving us opportunities everywhere to share His life, love, and truth with people in need. It is an amazing journey that we are all on together and we’re just getting started. Thank you for serving and giving faithfully to the mission of helping others encounter Christ’s presence and experience authentic relationships.

END-OF-THE-YEAR GIVING

As you know, moving into a new facility has all kinds of hidden costs and surprises—just like moving into a new house. We’re going to grow into our space and, as you give, we will continue to be good stewards of all that we have in order to serve people well. I want to encourage you to continue to give financially to the vision of a church where everyone belongs and where people are challenged to be all that God wants them to be. If you would like to give an end-of-the-year gift to ONEchapel for tax purposes, remember that you can do it quickly and easily by simply going to the website and clicking “online giving” at www.onechapel.com. Or, you can always use our mailing address: 3800 Ben Garza Lane, ATX 78749. We will allow 2011 dated giving as late as January 8th.

FIRST WEEK

Don’t make flimsy New Year’s resolutions this year. Start the year off right by consecrating your life to God and giving Him first place in everything. Join us for FIRST WEEK—a time of prayer, fasting and worship for ONEchapel. We’ll open the church for prayer everyday at NOON and we’ll come together for worship and prayer each evening with a live band from 7:00pm-8:30pm, Monday through Friday. There is no better way to begin 2012 than with a season of prayer and fasting and I hope you’ll join me. Skip lunch and come over to Monterey Oaks and pray with us. If you’re too far away to drive over, set aside some special time to pray and increase your awareness of God’s presence, His purpose for you, and the needs of others.

HOSTING MISSIONARIES

Our church is partnering with a Missions organization called Mountain Gateway whose goal it is to recruit, train, place, and pastor missionaries. Many of the new recruits and some current missionaries are coming to Austin during the month of January for strategy and training sessions. We need your help in hosting them. If you’re interested in having one or two missionaries stay in your home for a few days or in helping to serve them while they are here, please contact kim.swafford@onechapel.com.

IN THE FIRST PLACE: Priorities for Life

I’ll be starting a brand new series this Sunday, Jan. 1st on how to live our lives according to the priorities of God’s Word. Keeping Jesus in the first place is what living a surrendered life is all about. So, if you’re like me, and you have trouble keeping the main thing the main thing sometimes, this is the perfect opportunity for all of us to remind ourselves of the priorities that not only please God but give us life as well. I’ll see you on Sunday!

Also, join us in reading the Bible through in one year during 2012. We start January 1 and you can find the One-Year-Bible reading everyday on our website www.onechapel.com by clicking on One Year Bible!

I love sharing this adventure with you!

Ross

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES AT 4:30 AND 6:30PM

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends,

What an incredible experience to gather in our new church home for the first time last Sunday! Worshiping together was an awesome sight to behold as we consecrated that space to God’s work and reaffirmed our values and vision to reach people with the message of the gospel. I’m so grateful for what God is doing among us!

Don’t forget to invite someone to our Christmas Eve services this Saturday night at 4:30 and 6:30pm for two Christ-filled worship experiences that will be enjoyable for the whole family. We’ll sing some carols, tell some stories, light candles and celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus. It’s going to be a really fun and meaningful event. Here’s the address for our new location: 5508 Hwy 290 W Austin, TX 78735.

And remember, these will be our only two church services this weekend because we won’t have any services on Christmas Day, which is a Sunday, making time for family and friends to share the holiday together.

I believe these services will have a special grace on them to communicate who Jesus is and why he came to earth. Bring someone you love with you to hear a clear presentation of the message of Christ.

Can’t wait to see you on Christmas Eve!

Ross
