DON’T FORGET TO FALL BACK.

Good News Friends,

You get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning…if you remember to set your clocks back on Saturday night! So, plenty of time to come over to ONEchapel and enjoy worship with a bunch of other well-rested people at 10am. We’ll be finishing up last week’s talk, “Wired for Worship,” from the “I Like Church” series.

Also, “Square ONE” begins this Sunday night with “Church 101” at 5:30pm. We’ll meet at our new offices at 3800 Ben Garza Lane, Austin, TX 78737, off of Brodie Lane, just north of William Cannon. This is a great opportunity to hear more about ONEchapel and meet some other new folks joining our church family.

Have a great Weekend!

PRAYER AND STUDENTS.

Tonight is another exciting night for the ONEchapel family. We’re praying as we do every Wednesday night. But tonight is the final night we’ll be meeting at JuLee D’s house. It’ll be a great time to connect with one another and with what God is doing as we continue to move forward. So come pray with us.

And Brent is hosting a Student Ministry Vision night for future leaders. He’s going to share the vision and direction for students over the next couple months as we ramp up into the launch in January. So, if you’re an adult looking to make an impact on the next generation, this night is for you. Our first high school gathering is on November 10 and our first junior high gathering is on November 14. Come hear the vision and get some practical tools so you can make a difference in the lives of teenagers and families at ONEchapel.

Both start at 7pm tonight. Come on out! Great days aren’t just ahead…they’re happening now!

Email info@onechapel.com if you need some directions to either gathering.

And don’t forget Square ONE kicks off this Sunday night at 5:30pm with Church 101.

WHAT’S HAPPENING? PRAYER, SQUARE ONE, NEW OFFICES, STUDENT MINISTRY…WHAT’S NOT HAPPENING?!?!

Things are starting to rattle-and-hum at ONEchapel! So much going on, people finding their places, connecting with one another, praying together, serving our city and our church….it’s amazing!!

Here’s what’s coming next!

LAST PRAYER MEETING AT JULEE D’S

Awww….Make sure and join us for prayer at Julee D’s tomorrow night at 7pm (11/3)…it’s the final prayer meeting at her house, but not the last prayer meeting at ONEchapel. Next Wednesday we’ll be having the prayer meeting at our new office digs! Mark down the new address: 3800 Ben Garza Lane, Austin, TX 78749 just behind Lowe’s near William Cannon and Brodie Lane. Prayer connects us to God’s heart and to one another. Don’t miss it!

CHURCH 101 SUNDAY NIGHT at 5:30pm

If you’re new to ONEchapel, come on out to SQUARE ONE which begins this Sunday night (11/7) with CHURCH 101. We will meet at the Church Offices (3800 Ben Garza Lane, Austin, TX 78749) at 5:30pm and end promptly at 7:00pm. We’ll have some great conversation about our church history, values and vision and begin the process to help you connect at ONEchapel. Dress casual and come ready to meet some new friends.

ONEchapel HOUSE WARMING PARTY – NOV. 17, 2010

We’re moving in to our new offices and we thought this is a great opportunity to celebrate together what God is doing among us. We’re going to make this a ton of fun for families and kids, with food, bouncy-castles, games, and a short prayer-time during the evening. It’s another way for us to make friends and create memories. Mark it on your calendar as an OPEN HOUSE from 5pm-9pm on Wednesday night, November 17th. We’ll pray together for a few minutes right around 7pm, but you’re welcome to come any time during the evening.  Now, that’s going to be fun!

ONE CHAPEL WORKING IT OUT AND CLEANING IT UP!

Last Saturday, a whole bunch of incredible ONEchapel family members worked together to clean up some office and meeting space for the church. This space will serve as the church office but will also be a great place for connection and discipleship over the coming months. We can see prayer meetings, SquareONE, Student Ministry meetings, Connect Groups and a number of other gatherings taking place here. It’s so exciting!

HUGE thanks to everyone who came out to clean up files, trim hedges, power wash, rip out walls, put down stones, pull weeds, organize garages, move furniture, trim branches, get eaten by fire ants (Sorry, Kasey) cook food, electrocute themselves (just a little) and plant trees and flowers.

Great days, powerful ministry, and awesome memories are ahead for us here.

We’re moving forward.

Here’s just a peek at some of the work that day.

SOME ONECHAPEL NEWS 10.15.10

Hello ONEchapel family,

We are having such a great time working together, getting to know one other and learning more about following Jesus. As we continue to move forward, here are a few items I want you know about.

I LIKE CHURCH SERIES
As many of you know, we are in the middle of a series of messages called “I Like Church.” We’re exploring what church is, what it is not, and how ONEchapel will grow into it’s unique expression of the church here in Austin. So many people tend to criticize the church, but we want to talk about what’s great about church! Last Sunday, I talked about how our Connect Groups will function to build relationships (I also put up a blog post describing our 3G strategy. Read it at blog.onechapel.com if you’re curious). This Sunday, we’ll talk about our church Mission in “No Plan B Part 2.” Over the next few weeks will be messages about our role in the City Church, encouraging a multi-generational culture, building a safe place for people, and how what we believe and why we believe it is so important.

NEW DIGS FOR ONEchapel OFFICES
Larry and Suzanne Foster have offered some much needed office space where we can have small meetings during the week to be able to connect and go to the next level of growth. They are moving their offices out, and we’re going to help them clean up and empty out some of the files, desks, furniture, etc… and make room for us to move in. Yes, we need an old fashioned church clean up crew to get this place ready! The first work-day will be Saturday, October 23rd from 8am to 4pm. It’s a residence located near Brodie Lane and William Cannon just behind the Lowe’s store. We’ll have breakfast tacos ready at 8am so come hungry and ready to work. Here’s the address: 3800 Ben Garza Lane, Austin, TX 78749.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!
Some of you have noticed the inconsistency of our audio during worship in the theater. We’re working to dial it in each week and we will get better and better at getting a great, full sound that envelopes us as we worship together. For some it may be loud and for others too soft, but we’ve provided opportunities for both groups to enhance their experience. Earplugs are available for one group and speaker stacks at face level in front of several seats for the other! Thanks so much for your patience as we try to “get it right” each Sunday.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRAYER
Each Wednesday we gather together for prayer with all who want to spend some time lifting Jesus up over our lives, our church, our city and the nations. We meet at JuLee D’s for one hour at 7pm. If you’ve never been, just email info@onechapel.com to get the address. It really is a great time of sharing the joy of prayer and intercession with others who are digging into God’s heartbeat!

ONEchapel LADIES NIGHT! OH WHAT A NIGHT!
My wife, Aimee, is hosting a ONEchapel Ladies Night. Bring your favorite dish (main dish, side dish, salad or dessert…and bring the recipe to share), and come ready for some great conversation, fun and vision for women’s ministries at ONEchapel. You’ll hear from Aimee and get to know a bunch of other ladies who are interested in connecting and finding God’s best for their lives. Please RSVP with your dish to aimee.parsley@onechapel.com.

Here’s the 411:
Friday, October 22nd, 6-9pm
Aimee Parsley’s House

And remember, you can keep up with all things ONEchapel at:

www.onechapel.com and blog.onechapel.com
as well as www.facebook.com/onechapel and www.twitter.com/onechapel.

I love what Jesus is doing…
