Happy New Year ONEchapel Family and Friends!

We had fantastic services on Sunday as we kicked off the New Year with our new series, “In the First Place: Priorities for Life.” Remember, whatever happens first influences the rest. God wants us to see our lives through the lens of His Word and His Spirit.

That’s why we’re hosting FIRST WEEK at ONEchapel right now. We had a great time with a bunch of people praying together at noon yesterday and a phenomenal worship time last night. We’ll meet everyday this week at noon with a night of worship each evening where we will pray and seek God together at 7pm. Both meetings are at the Monterey Oaks campus. TAG will be joining us on Wednesday night as well! This week is about starting the year off right—giving God the first place in our lives. We’d love for you to join us.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY

I want us to live according to biblical principles in every area of our lives. Finances are one of the most difficult areas to gain wisdom and strength. That’s why we are starting Financial Peace University. In this enjoyable class you will learn how to build savings, eliminate personal debt, and secure your family’s future. If you’re tired of being enslaved to your spending habits and struggling to find financial freedom, this is the course for you. Classes begin January 19th from 7:00pm-9:30pm every Thursday at the Monterey Oaks campus. There is a cost for materials of $100 per individual or couple. CONNECT GROUPS SUNDAY

We’re preparing to kick-off our next semester of Connect Groups on Sunday, January 15th. After church that day, we’ll have group leaders available for you to meet as well as a complete menu of Connect Groups happening in different locations and times around the city. Some of you need coaching in your life and you need to belong to a community where you are loved and challenged. Others have gifts and encouragement to share. We all need fellowship. Let’s get connected in our community reaching out and making a difference. There will be all kinds of groups to choose from, so be praying about where God wants to connect you!

TEAM ONE

Now that we’ve moved into our new facility at Monterey Oaks, we’re realizing that there are even more opportunities to serve and use the gifts that God has given each of us. Every ministry, from children’s to coffee stations to hospitality and ushering, needs your help. Would you be willing to serve others? If you haven’t been to Square ONE yet, please join us on Sunday evenings at 5:30pm to find your place. If you’ve been to Square ONE but still need to get plugged in, contact Spero.Stavros@onechapel.com and start finding fulfillment in your life as you serve others.

ANTICIPATING GOD’S GRACE!

Greetings ONEchapel Family and Friends,

Christmas Eve was so much fun with you! I so enjoyed the Carols, the True Story of Christmas, the Family singing together, and THE MARIACHI BAND! And of course, many people making new and renewed commitments to Christ. There is nothing better than that!

As we stand on the precipice of the new year, it’s amazing to look back at God’s faithfulness and give thanks, while at the same time looking forward, anticipating God’s grace. As a result, I’m filled with expectation!

GROWING AND STRETCHING

We’re moving into a new season for ONEchapel as we get settled in our new location at Monterey Oaks. It is a season of growing and stretching to meet the demands of ministry to more and more people. The last two weekends were our two biggest attendance records of the year and I believe God is giving us opportunities everywhere to share His life, love, and truth with people in need. It is an amazing journey that we are all on together and we’re just getting started. Thank you for serving and giving faithfully to the mission of helping others encounter Christ’s presence and experience authentic relationships.

END-OF-THE-YEAR GIVING

As you know, moving into a new facility has all kinds of hidden costs and surprises—just like moving into a new house. We’re going to grow into our space and, as you give, we will continue to be good stewards of all that we have in order to serve people well. I want to encourage you to continue to give financially to the vision of a church where everyone belongs and where people are challenged to be all that God wants them to be. If you would like to give an end-of-the-year gift to ONEchapel for tax purposes, remember that you can do it quickly and easily by simply going to the website and clicking “online giving” at www.onechapel.com. FIRST WEEK

Don’t make flimsy New Year’s resolutions this year. Start the year off right by consecrating your life to God and giving Him first place in everything. Join us for FIRST WEEK—a time of prayer, fasting and worship for ONEchapel. We’ll open the church for prayer everyday at NOON and we’ll come together for worship and prayer each evening with a live band from 7:00pm-8:30pm, Monday through Friday. There is no better way to begin 2012 than with a season of prayer and fasting and I hope you’ll join me. Skip lunch and come over to Monterey Oaks and pray with us. If you’re too far away to drive over, set aside some special time to pray and increase your awareness of God’s presence, His purpose for you, and the needs of others.

HOSTING MISSIONARIES

Our church is partnering with a Missions organization called Mountain Gateway whose goal it is to recruit, train, place, and pastor missionaries. Many of the new recruits and some current missionaries are coming to Austin during the month of January for strategy and training sessions. We need your help in hosting them. If you’re interested in having one or two missionaries stay in your home for a few days or in helping to serve them while they are here, please contact kim.swafford@onechapel.com.

IN THE FIRST PLACE: Priorities for Life

I’ll be starting a brand new series this Sunday, Jan. 1st on how to live our lives according to the priorities of God’s Word. Keeping Jesus in the first place is what living a surrendered life is all about. So, if you’re like me, and you have trouble keeping the main thing the main thing sometimes, this is the perfect opportunity for all of us to remind ourselves of the priorities that not only please God but give us life as well. I’ll see you on Sunday!

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES AT 4:30 AND 6:30PM

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends,

What an incredible experience to gather in our new church home for the first time last Sunday! Worshiping together was an awesome sight to behold as we consecrated that space to God’s work and reaffirmed our values and vision to reach people with the message of the gospel. I’m so grateful for what God is doing among us!

Don’t forget to invite someone to our Christmas Eve services this Saturday night at 4:30 and 6:30pm for two Christ-filled worship experiences that will be enjoyable for the whole family. We’ll sing some carols, tell some stories, light candles and celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus. It’s going to be a really fun and meaningful event. And remember, these will be our only two church services this weekend because we won’t have any services on Christmas Day, which is a Sunday, making time for family and friends to share the holiday together.

I believe these services will have a special grace on them to communicate who Jesus is and why he came to earth. Bring someone you love with you to hear a clear presentation of the message of Christ.

SAME FABULOUS CHURCH — BRAND NEW LOCATION.

I’m so excited about having services in our new location this Sunday!

Don’t wake up and absentmindedly drive to the movie theater on Sunday morning because all that you’ll find there are bunches of people eating greasy popcorn and mindlessly watching movies. Come to ONEchapel instead! We’ll be enjoying the presence of Jesus, building relationships and strategizing for our mission!

The new address is 5508 Hwy 290 W Austin, TX 78735. Services begin at 9:30 and 11:30am and we’ll be breaking in the new “Living Room” and cafe with a wonderful time together.

Then, next week we’ll celebrate together on Christmas Eve with Saturday evening services at 4:30 and 6:30pm. These will be special services that you can invite family and friends to. We’ll enjoy singing carols together, sharing some holiday cheer, and giving a clear presentation of the gospel message, all culminating in a candlelight moment of Christmas wonder for the whole family. Invite someone you love to this memorable event.

These are busy days for all of us…remember to be the ONE who shares, understands, loves and heals.
