INVITE SOMEONE TO CHURCH FOR THE NEW 9 AND 11.

We’re so excited and grateful to expand to 2 services this Sunday, January 9th at 9 and 11AM. If you want to invite a friend on facebook or just let friends and family know what Jesus is doing, send them this little .jpeg. Just click, save it, and send it on.

Most people say they would go to church if a friend would just ask. Just ask.

Sunday is going to be really fun. Hope you can make it.

GRATEFUL FOR WHAT HAS BEEN. EXCITED ABOUT WHAT WILL BE.

The ONEchapel Launch September 12, 2010 from ONEchapel on Vimeo.

We had an incredible and miraculous start as a church family on September 12, 2010 and are so thrilled that Jesus is building His Church in Austin. We’re overwhelmed with gratitude that we get to be a part of that. We’re thankful for the salvations, the healings, and the family connections that we have already seen.

And now we’re looking forward to what Jesus will do in 2011 as we expand to 2 services this coming Sunday, January 9th at 9AM and 11AM. We believe “greater things” are coming. We hope you’ll be a part of that.

See you Sunday.

GET SET FOR AN AMAZING YEAR!

Happy New Year, ONEchapel!

2010 was a year of risk, faith, planting and transition. Jesus is building a church that is truly a family, and preparing us for a year of serving, growing and harvesting for the kingdom of God. 2011 is going to be a ride!

ONE-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN
Let’s read the Bible through from cover to cover this year together. Go to the website www.onechapel.com and click on “One-Year Bible” for the reading plan and start today!

HUNGRY
Get ready for a season of consecration and prayer as we launch into the new year. We’ll begin on January 9th and finish our 21 days on January 30th. We’ll be having special times of prayer and fasting during each week. I’ll also be starting a message series called “HUNGRY” tomorrow (01.02.11) where I’ll be sharing about the importance of a lifestyle of hungering for God. Don’t miss it!

SQUARE ONE
If you’re new to ONEchapel, the best opportunity that you have for connecting and finding out more about this community happens Sunday night, January 2nd at 5:30pm at the ONEchapel Offices (that’s tomorrow night!—3800 Ben Garza Ln. Austin, TX 78749). Church 101 is the name of the class, and I’ll be there talking about the history, philosophy and vision for ONEchapel. It will be a great time together!

GOING TO TWO SERVICES JANUARY 9th
Don’t forget to invite a friend or a neighbor to church for the launching of our two services at 9AM and 11AM! This expansion will make room for the people that Jesus wants to add to our family of believers at ONEchapel.

It’s a new year.
It’s 2011.
It’s time to lean forward.
Don’t be passive.
Share the love of Christ.
Leave the past behind.
Be filled with faith for the future!
Come on, ONEchapel…Let’s GO!

ONE, TWO, THREE THINGS FOR 2011…

As we approach the final days of 2010, I’m so excited about the future of ONEchapel! 2011 will be a pivotal year in our growth and development as a church. Here are three ideas that will help shape the coming year:

ONE-YEAR BIBLE
Let’s start off the New Year by making a commitment to read the Bible through from cover to cover. This is a really good way for us all to connect as we journal on our own or discuss the passages we’re reading together. The Scriptures give us understanding, wisdom, and courage and they are the best source material for our prayers. We need to be a church that is both full of the Word of God and connected to one another. This commitment to read the Bible through in one year will encourage both! We will have each day’s reading available on our website www.onechapel.com as well as printed sheets to carry in your Bible. Let’s do this together!

TWO SUNDAY SERVICES
We’re gearing up for Sunday, January 9th when we will begin two identical church services at 9am and 11am. This will create room for growth and keep us all focused on bringing people to Christ and inviting others to church. Statistics tell us most people you know would go to church with you, at least once, if you would simply ask them. Let’s start this year by courageously and boldly praying for God to lead us to people who need Him!

THREE WEEKS OF PRAYER AND FASTING
As we move into the New Year, we are going to consecrate our lives to Christ with 21 days of focused prayer and fasting. We will have special times of prayer as well as a commitment to going without certain foods or activities as a way of making space, encouraging one another to “seek first the kingdom of God.” This is not a time where we try to get God to do things (He already wants to), but rather a time for becoming more sensitive to His plans and purposes for our lives, our city and our nation. We will be participating in this three-week prayer and fasting effort with many other churches around the nation. Here is a website where you can receive some training and encouragement along the way: www.awake21.org.

God wants to give us people who are ready to receive Him. The Harvest is ripe and I want every one of us at ONEchapel to dive in and be aggressive in our pursuit of God and the people who need Him!

Light up the world,
Ross

OPPORTUNITY FOR MINISTRY
P.S. We have three interns who have been a great blessing to ONEchapel over these first few months. We are currently looking for two home sponsors who would be willing to house one young man each, from January through May. This is a great opportunity to minister to these young men who are spending a year giving their time and energy to being trained at ONEchapel. If you’re at all interested, please contact Brent Parsley to inquire about the details at brent.parsley@onechapel.com.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS TO THE FAMILY OF ONECHAPEL.

It is truly the most wonderful time of the year when we celebrate the birth of the Christ-child and experience the wonder of God’s love through his Son, Jesus.

Here’s a few reminders of what’s going on around ONEchapel:

CHRISTMAS EVE GATHERING
Bob and Michelle Marshall have graciously opened their home to anyone who would like to gather with a few friends to celebrate Christmas Eve. This will be a fun time of sharing together the blessing of friends and family. If you’re new to Austin or you find yourself far from home, we don’t want you to be alone for Christmas. Come join the party anytime between 6:30pm and 9:30pm at 6005 Kelsing Cove Austin, TX 78735. Please contact them to tell them you’re coming at bmarshall@relevantlife.net or 512-358-7991.

TEAM ONE 401
If you’ve been looking for a place to connect and serve at ONEchapel then come join us this Sunday afternoon (12/26) at 5:30pm for the final installment of this month’s Square ONE. We will gather at the ONEchapel Offices (3800 Ben Garza Ln. Austin, TX 78749) where you can hear me (Ross) speak about the value of teamwork and serving, and then find your connecting point to serve with TEAM ONE. We need help with set up and tear down on Sundays, hosting, hospitality, Connect Groups, ushers, Children’s ministry and more. I’d love to see you there!

THANKS FOR SHARING
Many of you gave away clothes and baby items to the South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center, and we want to say THANK YOU! We were able to meet a bunch of their needs and give them a generous financial offering from ONEchapel. Thank you for your faithful giving and your willingness to share with others in need. It is our calling and our privilege! More to come after the first of the year…

ONEchapel IS EXPANDING!
Mark your calendar for January 9th when ONEchapel will be moving to 2 SERVICES at 9AM and 11AM. They will be two identical 1½ hour services (if the preacher can finish on time) and will provide space for new people searching for Jesus and His family. Ask the Lord to lead you to people you can invite to join us and be especially aware of how the new year brings an opportunity for people to make new commitments in their lives.

A new study last year found that 82% of people would attend church if someone would just ask them to go. Be filled with courage and compassion, and let Jesus lead you to people who you might bring into the family of God.

May your holiday season be filled with love, laughter, and a fresh understanding of the value of people. As our world becomes increasingly fast paced and chaotic, take a few moments to genuinely enjoy the gift of people near you.

Be the light!

Ross
