Hey OC Friends,

MEN’S RETREAT – Friday to Sunday, October 5th – 7th

Sign up today for the ONEchapel Men’s Retreat at beautiful Camp Buckner in Marble Falls. It will be a leisurely weekend of outdoor activities, worshiping and sharing together, and I’ll be teaching and vision casting for men’s ministry at ONEchapel. We’ll all return early Sunday morning for church services at ONEchapel with the rest of the family! This event is for all men, ages 13 and up. 2 nights and 5 meals are only $96 per person and space will be limited. Scholarships are available so don’t let a lack of $$ stop you. Sign up right now at www.onechapel.com by clicking on MEN’S RETREAT. (Email kristi.savage@onechapel.com for scholarship info).

FAMILY SUNDAY – September 30th

This weekend we’ll all be worshiping together in the Living Room at ONEchapel with the kids. We’ll make sure it is geared towards the whole family and we’ll have a special time of sharing about why and how we worship. This is one of those opportunities to model our values and share with one another the very important idea that we all belong!

BABY DEDICATIONS: We’ll dedicate babies during our two morning services at 9:30am and 11:30am. To dedicate your baby, all you need to do is email info@onechapel.com and be sure to include which service you’ll attend.

WATER BAPTISM: We’ll be water baptizing this Sunday night at the 5:30pm service. If you have never obeyed the Lord in Water Baptism since you believed in Jesus, or have not been baptized since you were a child, please plunge in this important and spiritual sacrament of our church. Go to www.onechapel.com and click on “Water Baptism” to get all the info and instructions for the class and for the Sunday evening baptisms.

Hey ONEchapel Family and Friends!

I’d like to take this moment to interrupt both U.S. political party conventions to bring you this very important announcement: Jesus is not running for President! He is not trying to win your vote. Instead, He has come to take over our lives! He taught his disciples to pray, “Let your kingdom come, let your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.” This is such a pivotal and powerful prayer that challenges us to ask God, “What are you doing here and how can I cooperate?” It’s a bold prayer that we’re instructed to pray inviting God into every area of our lives.

I also want to encourage you to pray big prayers during our final week of “21 Days of Prayer.” There is no prayer too big or too small for God to answer. What are you believing God for right now? Is it beyond your capacity or ability to accomplish? If it is, then you’re on the right track. Who are you praying for to receive a revelation of God’s great love? Don’t give up. God is working behind the scenes even when you may not be able to see it. God’s kingdom is already advancing and we are His ambassadors ushering in God’s will and purpose.

Join us everyday in praying a different theme together by text or email. Text OCPRAY to 313131, or sign up for daily prayer emails at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “21 Days of Prayer.” You can also join us as we gather at Monterrey Oaks, Monday through Friday from 6am to 7am.

I’ve included a prayer guide for you to pray with us during this last week of our 21 days. Click here for attachment.

PRAYER MINISTRY BREAKFAST – Saturday September 8th

If you’re interested in more coordinated and consistent prayer for others at ONEchapel, and in our city, please join me for a Prayer Ministry Breakfast on Saturday, September 8th at 9am in the Living Room at Monterrey Oaks. I’ll share a vision for prayer and introduce you to our new prayer ministry leaders, Derek and Carrie Peterson. I hope you can make it!

CONNECT GROUP SUNDAY THIS WEEK – Sunday, September 9th

You’ll receive a menu of all the Connect Groups this Sunday at all three services so that you can pray about where you’re going to connect. You’ll also be able to get the menu online at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Connect Groups.” Connect Group Sunday is this week on September 9th where you’ll be able to meet each Connect Group Leader face to face. I hope you’ll take advantage of this important event to consider how you can create community and share your life with others.

MEN’S RETREAT – October 5th – 7th

It’s time for the men of ONEchapel to connect in a greater way. We’ve got to encourage one another and stand with one another as we lead our families with courage and strength. As a result we’ve planned a MEN’S RETREAT this fall at the beautiful Camp Buckner (just an hour away from Austin) on Friday night through Saturday night October 5th-7th. We’ll all return early Sunday morning together for church! This will be fantastic time of outdoor activities, worship and sharing together. Two nights and five meals are only $96 per person and space will be limited. Some scholarships will be available. Sign up this weekend at www.onechapel.com by clicking on MEN’S RETREAT.

THE 11:30am SERVICE IS FULL!

Would you be willing to serve others who are coming to ONEchapel for the first time by switching to the 9:30am or the 5:30pm services? Both services have all the same elements as the 11:30am, just more seats. It would be such a blessing and act of love for everyone involved. The 5:30pm service is a wonderfully, motley crew that would love to have you join them. It’s a very relaxed service where you never know what I’m going to say. Risky and fun! I hope you’ll help me make room for others by switching to the 9:30am or the 5:30pm. Thank you so much!

Jesus is doing a lot, and I don’t want you to miss a thing!

Hello ONEchapel Family. We hope you are enjoying a fantastic summer together. We are so very grateful for all the wonderful things that Jesus is doing in our church family and in the people of our city. People are making decisions for Christ every Sunday, students are being discipled, kids and families are finding life in Jesus and we’re building relationships in our summer Connect Groups. This really is a wonderful and fun season.I wanted to remind you that tomorrow (Sunday July 29th) is Family Sunday which means we will have the whole family together for a “day of worship” in all three services. This is always a highlight and a great adventure! We will also have baby dedications during the 9:30 & 11:30 services and water baptisms during the 5:30 service. If you have a child you would like to dedicate, contact kristi.savage@onechapel.com. If you or someone you know would like to be water baptized, sign up for the class (Sunday at 4:30pm) and get all the details at www.onechapel.com by clicking on Water Baptism. And with our 11:30 service filling up so much each week, perhaps a few of you would consider coming to the 9:30 or the 5:30 to make a little room for those guests who continue to come to the 1 1:30.

This promises to be another great day together as we continue to learn what it means to be a “Messy Church” with a multigenerational mission. We can’t wait to worship with you and your family tomorrow.

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

FAMILY SUNDAY – April 29!

This Sunday is “Family Sunday” and that means we’ll have the whole family worshipping together in our Sunday morning services. This practice emphasizes our family culture and encourages all of us to realize we’re part of something bigger than our individual interests. We’ll design the services with the whole family in mind, which makes it so much fun! You won’t want to miss it because these Sundays are always special and surprising!

POTLUCK!

You might remember old-fashioned church potlucks in the fellowship hall—this is not that! It’s a church picnic on steroids! We’re celebrating what Jesus is doing in our ONEchapel community by having a huge potluck and night of worship at the 5:30pm service time. We want all of you to bring a side dish or dessert to share and we’ll provide burgers, dogs and drinks. We’ll have a huge barbecue pit going, bounce-houses for the kids and snow cones for everybody. It is going to be a blast!

WORSHIP AND WATER BAPTISM

After we eat together, we’ll be gathering in the “Living Room” for an evening of worship and celebration featuring water baptism. These nights are always special and full of God’s presence. If you want to be water baptized, sign up for the class (Sunday, April 29 at 3:30pm) and get all the details at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.” Water baptism is a sacrament of the church where we welcome our new life in Christ and say good-bye to our old ways of sin and death. If you’ve not been baptized since you believed, or if you were baptized as a child and want to make this declaration as an adult, this is your night!

No matter what, don’t miss this incredible family celebration!

I look forward to hanging out with you!

Easter Greetings ONEchapel family and friends!

Here is the latest update on what’s happening next week at ONEchapel.

EASTER

Resurrection Sunday is right around the corner and many of us have been planning and praying for this service that will focus on the resurrection stories found in the Scriptures. I’ll intentionally be helping us see ourselves in the story of Jesus. Bring a friend and take them out for lunch after the 9:30 or 11:30am service. Or, better yet, beat the church crowd and go to brunch in the morning and then join us for the 5:30pm service. No matter which one you choose, we’re going to share the gospel and celebrate resurrection life!

RESURRECTION STORIES

You can still share a resurrection story from your life with us by going to www.onechapel.com, clicking on “Resurrection Stories” and following the upload instructions. Make a video no longer than 2 minutes on your phone, digital camera or camcorder and tell us your story. You can also just send your video to krisfilm@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it.

LOVE AUSTIN

Love Austin is an opportunity to serve and share with others. Invite a friend who does not know Jesus to go with you and invest in that relationship while working side by side. This is one of the best ways to connect to people who would never come to church. Sign up for helping a ministry in need, serving another person in need, or cleaning up a park in cooperation with “Keep Austin Beautiful.” Then, we’ll all gather back at our Ben Garza Office for celebration and burgers! Get all of the details at www.onechapel.com by clicking on LOVE AUSTIN. Choose your top three options and get your Connect Group to join in with you! It will be a blessing to our city and an encouragement to your life.

Don’t miss these great opportunities to put your faith in action and demonstrate your love for others. It’s going to be amazing!

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends,

This Easter at we want to share with one another the incredible work that Jesus has done and is doing in our lives. Revelation 12:11 says, “They triumphed over him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

There is awesome power in telling our stories. And there is transformational power when our life stories intersect with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. These are resurrection stories. Whether it is a story about failure and redemption; weakness and overcoming; or tragedy and triumph, we want you to tell your story through the medium of video. Your family, your marriage, your job, your heart, your salvation and your calling have potentially been touched by the sting of death and the power of resurrection.

Please pray about the resurrection story you can tell and then send your video to us by Sunday, April 1st! All you have to do is go to www.onechapel.com and upload your video.

Just follow these simple instructions:

1. Capture your Story.

Use your iPhone, Android, video camera, or other device to capture a 2-minute version of your story. Use imagery as much as you are able. Show that thing, that person, those people or other images that illustrate your story and what Jesus has restored to life. As you shoot those images, narrate your story in the background. We want to see your story rather than just hear it talked about.

2. Download your Story video to your computer.

You can use any of these file types: mp4 ogg avi mov wmv flv ogv webm. (Not sure how to do this? Search Google or ask a thirteen year old).

3. Upload your Story by “commenting” in the space provided.
Insert your name, a comment if you wish, and upload the file from your computer.
Click “Choose File”, locate your story file, and click “Upload”.
Wait until it uploads and you see the file name on the screen (this might take a little time so be patient).

4. Fill out the “CAPTCHA” form for authentication.

This let’s us know that you are someone who really wants to participate and your video is not spam.

5. Click “Save”.

That’s it. We will take those stories and put them together in different videos that will encourage our family here at ONEchapel as well as people in our city. You can also submit a DVD or another form of media, by dropping it off at the Ben Garza House (3800 Ben Garza Lane ATX 78749).

Remember, Your video cannot be more than 2 minutes long.

It should be images that show your story rather than you telling the story to the camera. By participating you are agreeing to allow ONEchapel to use your story publicly. No one else will see any comments you post on this page or the video that you post. Not every video will be able to be used.

Thank you for sharing your Resurrection Story with us…we’re excited to tell it!

He is Risen!

Hey ONEchapel Family and Friends,

Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday, March 11th! Make sure to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night! We all lose an hour of sleep but we’ll gain so much more in church on Sunday morning!

40 Days in the Word continues this week as we learn, love and live the Scriptures. It’s not too late to find a connect group at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “40 Days in the Word” where you can look at a map with groups near you and sign up for daily email devotions from our One Year Bible readings. Text “OCDEVO” to 313131 to receive daily texts with a link for these encouraging devotionals. Here’s this weeks Bible memory verse: “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Psalm 119:18.

We’re adding a new 5:30pm service on Sunday, March 18th! Our current services are crowded and people are committing their lives to Jesus every week. What a miracle! I want some of you to switch over to this new 5:30pm service to attend and to serve others who will come. If you are not serving on Team ONE, contact Kristi Savage at kristi.savage@onechapel.com. You’ll find purpose and meaning when you begin to serve others!

Eater Sunday is April 8th. We’ll have our three services at 9:30am, 11:30am and 5:30pm. Easter is one of the highest church attendance Sundays of the year and I want you to start praying about whom you will invite to join us at ONEchapel. Statistics tell us that 82% of people would come to church if someone would simply ask. We’ll have a clear presentation of the gospel, grace-filled worship and of course, the highly coveted ONEchapel coffee mugs for every guest.

LOVE AUSTIN is coming April 14th! If you know of a neighbor in desperate need of practical help, or know of a ministry that you would like partnering with to serve the needs of our city, please let us know. We’re putting together a list of servant-oriented projects for “LOVE AUSTIN” on Saturday, April 14th from 8am to 1pm. Our goal will be to serve the people in our city with a practical display of love, kindness and strategic mission. If you have an idea, email info@onechapel.com. Our purpose is not to just have an event; but to develop a lifestyle of mission in our communities. We want to partner with those who are doing great work already and fill in the gaps where needs are not being met.

Make sure you get “LOVE AUSTIN” on your calendar! Let’s all commit to setting aside time to love and serve by doing what others can not or will not do. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus to our city.

I love serving with you…

Ross

P.S. Remember to “Spring Forward” one hour this Saturday for Daylight Savings Time!

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

We are experiencing an explosion of grace and growth in our little church plant called ONEchapel. Jesus is truly building His Church and I am overwhelmed by the goodness of God. That means we have a lot of work to do as we love and encourage one another and reach out to serve our community. Let’s be salt and light everyday! Our church services are full, our Connect Groups are…well, connecting beautifully, many people are experiencing profound life-change, and we’re seeing commitments to Christ every single week at ONEchapel. I don’t know if you realize this, but we’re in the middle of a miracle!

Here’s what coming up this weekend. Come on and jump in!

THE EARLY BIRD GETS MORE ROOM…

I want to ask some of you who attend the 11:30am service to switch over to the 9:30am service. Some of you could do that easily and we need to because the second service is too full while the first service still has a bit more room. Would you be willing to serve others who want to come to ONEchapel by coming a little earlier? I would appreciate it and I know others will be blessed by this simple act of servanthood. We’ll balance out these two services before we have to go to a third service…(hint, hint).

RUN FOR THE ONE!

This Saturday, January 28th, at 9am we’ll host our first annual “Run for the ONE” half marathon, 10K and 5K “fun run” at Town Lake. We’ll meet in the grassy area near the south parking lot under the Mopac overpass by the pedestrian bridge at Zilker Park. Registration will begin at 8am for this free event. We’re all just getting together to highlight exercise, fitness, determination and fun. The course instructions will be given around 8:45am just before we begin. All registered runners will be assigned a number and receive a T-shirt. Families and friends are all encouraged to come out and cheer on your runners. Just look for the ONEchapel “Easy-up” tents and signs. It’s going to be loads of fun!

FAMILY SUNDAY IS JANUARY 29TH

We believe in families worshiping together. It is a wonderful expression of life and love when families share this time together. Here’s what the day will include:

· Sunday Morning Together: In both Sunday morning services, all the kids will join the adults for worship in the “Living Room.” We’ll gear the service towards the whole family with some fun and energetic elements for the kids. Don’t miss this one!

· Baby Dedication: Interested in dedicating your baby during the 11:30am service on Family Sunday? E-mail chelsie.griffith@onechapel.com.

· Night of Worship at 5:30pm: In the evening we will share in a time of extended worship & prayer at the Monterey Oaks campus. We’ll have an area for kid’s worship, some special interactive elements and water baptism. Invite a friend for this dynamic worship experience!

· Water Baptism: During our evening worship service we will celebrate new life in Christ with water baptism! If you’re interested, sign up for the class and get more info at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.”

BAPTISM CLASS AT 4:00pm ON SUNDAY

This Sunday afternoon, January 29th, at 4:00pm in Suite 120 we want to encourage you in one of the best decisions you will ever make—Water Baptism! Join us just before the Night of Worship for a short class where you’ll learn how to identify with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, leaving your old life behind and embracing your new life in Christ. Then, we’ll all get together to celebrate with you as you are baptized during our Night of Worship that evening. Sign up and get all the info at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.”

Hi ONEchapel Family and Friends!

I’ve been hearing the buzz since Sunday about all the great Connect Groups meeting around the city. If you haven’t made it to one yet, make it a priority this week or next to try one out. You may not find your fit right away, but keep trying, there is a group out there just for you. Whether you need to learn the basics of the faith, find some good fellowship with friends or just want to study a book of the Bible, you can connect with others just like you. With a record-breaking Sunday attendance last week, it is so important that every one of us reach out and CONNECT!

CONNECT GROUPS

Let me recommend a couple groups to you. “Next Steps” is on Sunday nights at the Ben Garza House and is perfect for newer believers who need foundational truths; while “We Are Church” is on Wednesday nights, right near the Monterey Oaks campus, and might be great fit for parents of teens. You could drop your teens off at TAG and then enjoy a brilliant DVD series, produced by Francis Chan, about who we are as God’s people. You can find the list of groups online now at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Connect Groups.”

RUN FOR THE ONE

Join us for the first annual “Run for the ONE” half marathon, 10K and 5K fun-run at Town Lake on Saturday, January 28th at 9:00am. We’ll meet under the MOPAC overpass by the pedestrian bridge at Zilker Park. We’ll have course maps, water stations and T-shirts. There is no cost for entering; this is simply a way for all of us to highlight the importance of health and fitness (1 Cor. 3:16). If you want to help by serving at water stations, provide directions for runners or help set up tables, etc… please contact Nathan Emert at nathan.emert@onechapel.com. We’ll also be familiarizing ourselves with the course this Saturday, January 21st at 9:00am with a practice run. Come celebrate at the finish line and cheer on those running. It’s going to be fun, fun, fun!

WATER BAPTISM

We’ll be water baptizing during our Night of Worship on Sunday, January 29th at our Monterey Oaks campus. If you have not been water baptized, or if you were baptized as a child, but not “since you believed,” this is an opportunity to obey the Lord in identifying with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. This is a wonderful sacrament full of meaning, freedom and joy as you leave your old life behind and embrace your new life in Christ. We’ll have a class at 3:30pm at the Monterey Oaks campus as well, so sign up and get all the info that you need at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Water Baptism.”

NIGHT OF WORSHIP

Invite someone to our first Night of Worship of 2012 in our new Monterey Oaks campus on Sunday, January 29th at 5:30pm. We’ll sing, pray, share and water baptize just as we do every fifth Sunday of the month. It’s going to be a great event!

Let me encourage you to put God first in every area of your life today. Think about how you can keep Him IN THE FIRST PLACE no matter what you’re facing. Seek HIS kingdom first and create the capacity to receive all the other things God wants to add to you (Matt. 6:33).

Be the ONE who brings the light…
