| Memorial Day Greetings ONEchapel!
It’s going to be a beautiful weekend and a great opportunity to remember all of those who have given their lives for our country defending the freedoms we so deeply hold dear. There is a lot going on, so here is a brief sampling of what’s happening this weekend. Keep reading all the way to end for an important announcement! FAMILY SUNDAY The fifth Sunday of the month is what we’re calling “Family Sunday.” This means that each family has the opportunity to worship together in our Sunday morning services. We’ll craft the service with attention to the young people joining us and encourage the bonding that is created when we worship God together as a family. Then, we will encourage everyone to join us later in the evening for a great NIGHT OF WORSHIP! (Keep reading for details). BAPTISM If you’ve never been baptized, or if you have recently renewed your commitment to Christ, this Sunday night we will be baptizing during our NIGHT OF WORSHIP. Baptism is an essential part of every believer’s new life in Christ, so take advantage of this opportunity and take the plunge! Say goodbye to your old way of life and embrace your new resurrection life! SIGN UP and get all of the DETAILS and instruction at www.onechapel.com by clicking on “Baptism.” You’re going to love it! POTLUCK DINNER We’re reaching way back and having a good-old-fashioned potluck dinner on Sunday night, just before the NIGHT OF WORSHIP! Bring your favorite DISH or DESSERT to the Church Office at 6PM and enjoy fellowship with the family at ONEchapel. We’ll have bouncy-castles for the kids, snow cones for all you kids at heart and lots of great discussion around the picnic tables. ONEchapel will provide the meat, drinks, plates and utensils (though some of you will use your hands). Bring a friend! It’s gonna be fun! NIGHT OF WORSHIP Starting at 7pm, we will strike up the band and gather for worship under the big tent! We’re going to encourage a family experience by including several artistic and interactive worship elements, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, music and more! This will be a casual environment where we will sing together, baptize and worship Jesus in a bunch of different ways. Don’t miss it! CARRY THE BURDEN (JOPLIN TORNADO RELIEF) We partner with a ministry called the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN). They are coordinating with local churches to provide necessary items for so many who have been displaced by the disaster in Joplin, MO. and families who are in great need. Carry the burden is an initiative designed to get the whole family involved by donating your child’s backpack from last year, full of much-needed supplies. Here are 3 Simple Steps of How You Can Help:
1. Have your children empty their backpack from the last school year. (Or, buy a new backpack) 2. Together, as a family, fill the old backpacks with the following items (Must have the following supplies to be accepted): List of items needed: Bar of Soap, Bottle of Shampoo, Toothpaste, Unopened Toothbrush, Stick of Deodorant, Package of Wet Wipes, Two Bottles of Water, A Hand Towel, One Wash Cloth 3. Bring your backpack to ONEchapel on Sunday morning or Sunday evening and we’ll get it to Joplin, MO. Come on ONEchapel, let’s do this together! We will be the light…. Ross |
