LEAD A GROUP
We are so glad you’re here to join our amazing team of Group Leaders!
We want to share with you the qualifications for becoming a Group Leader, tell you a little about the application process, and provide a few expectations for leading a healthy, successful Group.
Let’s do this!
GROUP LEADER QUALIFICATIONS
Attend One Chapel for at least 3-6 months.
Be a participant in a One Chapel group first.
Worship with the community on Sundays 3 times a month.
Recruit a co-leader and at least one other committed person to be in your Group. (Rule of 3!)
APPLICATION PROCESS
Fill out a Team One Application and a Background Check. (Safety is a high priority for us).
Interview with the Groups Director. (After you apply, your Group Director will contact you).
Register your Group information so we can publish it in the online menu.
Wait for approval to start meeting with your Group.
GROUP LEADER EXPECTATIONS
Use the Discussion Guides we provide from the Sunday messages, OR choose from the Approved Resource List OR submit your desired resource for approval.
Show hospitality—a warm atmosphere of a well-lit room, background music, and snacks.
Facilitate discussions. The definition of a successful group? Everybody talks.
Make time to pray at the end of your group (groups of 3 are recommended).
Connect during the week with texts, calls, meet-ups, or social media.
Keep a record of attendance each week to pray for and care for people.
Schedule one service project with your Group during the semester.
Participate in One Chapel leadership trainings.
Share stories and testimonies with your Group Directors to encourage our church.
Focus on Jesus and make room for the Holy Spirit to lead.
